2K18 Six Summer Must Haves

"Back in the days when I was young, I am not a kid anymore, but some days I wish I was a kid again"-Ahmad

Oh, the days we use to rush home to watch our favorite 90s shows as kids. From Sailor Moon, Scooby Doo, Dragon Ball Z to All THAT, Cousin Skeeter, Kablam, Keenan, and Kel, just to name a few.

We love to chant Kel's infamous line,"WHO LOVE ORANGE SODA?" or the time Kel was whaling about him dropping a screw in the tuna. What a classic!

How about Helga almost professing her love for Arnold. YIKES!

Let us not forget the prima donna herself ...Clarissa, who really did explain it all. Her nonchalant dry sense of humor explaining teenage struggles masking in black combat boots, paisley dresses, berets, and coordinating scrunchies.

Little did she know, her struggles were minor compared to what "adulting"  looks like: rent, car payment/car insurance, cell-phone, do I drop Verizon, Comcast, or go back to basic television? I ate out twice this week, so chicken Ramen noodles for three days it is until my direct deposit hit my savings on the 15th.

Then, there is Sallie aka Navient

Life was good... really G-O-O-D! That's why we are bringing back the 90s with a TWIST of 2018!

We are counting down 2018 Six Summer Must Haves!

1)Stripes/Checkered tops and/or bottoms: We going back to the Clueless days: not the flip phones, but colossal hats, yes, please. A midi skirt with a cute crop top or the stripe shirts as seen in the previous blog.

2)Oversized GRAPHIC T-SHIRTS: Graphic Tees will never go out of style, and TLC can vouch for it. They were known for their baggy pants, over size t-shirts screaming "NO SCRUBS". These stores have the apparel to impersonate just that: Target, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Spencer, Zumiez, Hot Topic, Forever 21, thrift stores, music festivals, flea markets.  Target have us craving for more from our past icon: Whitney, Micheal Jackson, Selena, tv shows/movies: Rick Mortis, Jurassic Park, and or Albert Einstein. H&M, Target, Forever 21 have reasonable price tees starting at $12 -20. Urban Outfitters showcase name brand Stussy, Calvin Klein, Fila, Snoop Dogg, and etc. I am all for saving!!

 3) Platform Sneakers- Balecengia F/W 18 collection shoes came out with the Triple S Trainer and Stretch Knit Hot Top. Steven Madden decides to take a spin-off of the latest collection. UK based shoe store, YRU  & Buffalo  London Classic Leather Sneakers selling the hottest, holographic, and colorful platform sneakers. Just ask Jhene Aiko herself.

4) T-Shirt Dresses- I love t-shirt dress. They are the perfect "quick throw on" for any occasion. Zara and H&M has a SALE going on (  everything from- winter, spring, summer). The sporty midi, mini dresses are perfect to wear with a pair of sneakers, wedges, loafers, mules, Sperrys, or sandals.

5) Two-set pieces/Coordinating/ matching sets: The two set-piece has been trending heavily lately on celebrities such as Beyonce,  online boutiques-Fashionova and PrettyLittleThings, social media sites like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook. From the matchy short sets to crop top and pencil skirt, you'll be to sure turn heads at Ozio Sunday Day Party in DC.

6) Tropical/Floral Prints: Summer breeze, blue skies, crystal clear waters, serving Mai Tai in a jet jacuzzi. If you have been daydreaming about catching a  flight to Hawaii,or going to your best-friend's sister bachelorette tea brunch party, then you may want to grab you a few floral tops or greenery prints to set the mood right. H&M has floral dresses, shorts, and skirts for an easy steal. I have purchased a t-shirt dress for 17.99! For the rest of us (me included),  throw a Luau theme cookout with tiki torches and chicken/shrimp kabobs on the grill.
